And last but not least, since we took the cuuh pictures outside today, the cats weren't able to be their usually helpful selves. So for you cat photo fans out there, I picked up my camera and grabbed a candid shot of each cat. The computer sorted them alphabetically by name. Hope you like 'em!

Atticus was napping on the bed...

...as was Bella.

Felix was asleep on a chair in the dining room.

Panda was hanging out with Diesel nearby.

Rita was sleeping on a perch in the computer room.

And Diesel was interested in trying to drink from the sink. She's seen Atticus do it and keeps trying to get it figured out. Quite a bit of water on the back of her head under her right ear in the picture illustrates the problem she has with getting her mouth into position. But she is determined and will have it mastered before long I think.

BONUS FEATURE: Using the Cuuh

On June 8th, 2007 we bought a "new and nice Australian "rain style" showerhead" for $3, and this past week we finally got around to trying it out:

It works very well, it delivers a gently pulsating shower with plenty of flow. We plan to get a diverter so we can add it to the hand held shower in the pink bathroom and switch between the two.

August 15th

Weather: Rainy! And quite cool!!
Amount spent: $37.50
Comments: went to quite a few sales today. We also encountered quite a few that had apparently been rained out, and a few that were still going on, but with everything under tarps. Actually, a nice change from the recent hot weather.

The kittens (9.5 weeks old) needed no encouraging to check out the cuuh this week, they were up on the table and investigating the haul in no time at all. Their movements were so quick it was difficult to take a good picture, however...

• book, paperback, Tales of the South Pacific--25 cents
• book, paperback, Brave New World--25 cents
• very pretty wooden tray (allegedly from Spain)--$2
• not pictured: small bag of pinion scented incense sticks--25 cents

The kittens were having a blast! Atticus joined them briefly, but when they both started attacking his tail he abandoned the table for a "safer" spot...

Toro snowblower with electric starter (runs, but probably needs some work)--$25

2-cycle oil included in the price of the snowblower
