This picture was taken just prior to Atticus learning that he has a new (self-appointed) assistant in cuuh inspecting. If a chair is near the table, the kittens can now get on the table...
After the camera flashed, the kitten launched and ran right over Atticus, who wasn't even aware she was behind him. He took it in stride, cool cat that he is, and just watched her as she jumped off the table and resumed her kitten antics on the floor. Atticus seems to be accepting the kittens slowly, and without too much fuss or stress.
